These and other initiatives are targeted at the management and restoration of various habitats eg meadows, moorland, grassland, heathland, oakwoods, wetlands, native woodlands.

GEORGEGARTEN / GEORGIUM, DESSAU, SACHSEN-ANHALT Castle grounds laid out in a typical landscape style of the later part of the 18th century with lakes, follies, woodlands, meadows and pathways cleverly arranged to take advantage of picturesque views.

Two of the projects are primarily aimed at managing and improving legal protection of such areas at Teici (45,400 ha), Katlesi (12,000 ha) and Zvarde (10,000 ha) in order to counteract threats from e.g. drainage and forestry. The park is a mixture of woodland walks and meadows with a large lake dotted with islands.

DEUTSCHLAND ----------- FURSTLICHER PARK, KRAUCHENWEIS, BADEN-WURTTEMBERG The 19th century residence of the Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen family with a 60 ha park designed according to the landscape principles of the Comte of Pueckler, enclosed in a woodland belt with cleverly laid out landscape views of open meadows with a large lake acting as a focal point.
