The manufacturer of the illuminating device must lay down the conditions for the fitting of the device in relation to the position intended for the registration plate. That device must occupy a position such that at none of the points on the surface to be illuminated with the angle of incidence of the light on the surface of the plate exceed 82°, that angle being measured in relation to the extremity of the light-emitting surface of the device that is furthest from the surface of the plate.
