The Council adopted a Common Position imposing the restrictive measures foreseen in the UN Security Council Resolution 1267 (1999) - ban of flights to and from the European Community carried out by aircraft owned, leased or operated by or on behalf of the Taliban and freeze of funds and other financial resources held abroad by the Taliban - following the Taliban's failure to hand over Usama bin Laden in accordance with the terms of the Resolution.
Le Conseil a adopté une position commune instituant les mesures restrictives prévues dans la résolution 1267 (1999) du Conseil de sécurité des Nations Unies - interdiction des vols à destination et en provenance de la Communauté européenne effectués par des aéronefs appartenant aux Taliban, ou affrétés ou exploités par eux ou pour leur compte ; gel des fonds et autres ressources financières détenus à l'étranger par les Taliban, ceux-ci n'ayant pas livré Oussama Ben Laden comme le demandait la résolution.
