[English] Mr. Michael Presley: I'll ask Rory to elaborate on this, but I think we are seeing legislation being introduced in the United States to this effect, around the issue of food security, but I think the broader issue of food security, both in Canada and the United States, is a concern about the extent to which foods could be tampered with.

The specific aims are: - to improve the know-how and abilities of approximately 500 individuals working for the public and private agencies responsible for food security in the SADCC countries; - to increase the capacity of the twelve existing training centres; - to improve the technical and administrative efficiency of the national and regional agencies of the SADCC countries which deal with food security policy analysis and implementation.

The amount proposed in these supplementary estimates would be allocated as follows: $76.2 million to the Asian Development Bank for the Canadian Climate Change Fund for the private sector in Asia; $16.5 million to the United Nations Development Programme to improve climate resilience while enhancing food security in less developed countries; and $3.2 million for the Canada Fund for African Climate Resilience ...[+++]to support projects that will advance food security and promote sustainable development and economic growth in Africa.
