Ces chaînes ont donc un rôle à jouer, mais il serait dramatique qu’à l’avenir l’Europe entière soit «fast-foodisée». Aux Etats-Unis, surtout sur la côte ouest, il semble que l’on ne voie plus que des chaînes de fast-food. Nous voulons à tout prix éviter que l’Union européenne connaisse le même sort.
We should remember that, yes, there is a role for a fast-food chain, but it would be a terrible thing if, in years to come, all we found when we travelled through Europe was fast food. Travelling through parts of America – especially on the west coast – there seems to be nothing but fast-food chains, and that is the last thing we want here in the European Union.
