[5] Dans sa récente proposition de modernisation des quatrième (78/660/CEE) et septième (83/349/CEE) directives du Conseil, adoptée le 28 mai 2002, (COM(2002)259), la Commission a soumis des modifications à ces directives favorisant l'insertion, dans les rapports annuels, d'informations non financières permettant de comprendre les performances de l'entreprise et sa situation en fin d'exercice - en d'autres termes, les rapports annuels ne devraient pas se limiter aux aspects financiers des résultats ou à la situation en fin d'exercice.
[5] In the recent proposal for the modernisation of the Fourth (78/660/EEC) and Seventh Council Directives (83/349/EEC) adopted on 28 May 2002, COM(2002)259, the Commission has proposed amendments to those Directives to promote the inclusion, in the annual review, of non-financial information relevant to an understanding of the performance of the business and its position at the year end - i.e. the annual review should not be restricted to the financial aspects of performance or year end position.
