Aux ides de 1957, à travers l’Union nordique des passeports, le Danemark, la Suède, la Finlande, la Norvège et l’Islande, cinq États européens, ont ouvert leurs frontières aux personnes, alors que six autres États européens concevaient un marché commun, en privilégiant la circulation des marchandises au sein d’une union douanière.
Towards the end of 1957, through the Nordic Passport Union, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway and Iceland, five European States, opened their borders to people while another six sketched out a common market, giving priority to the movement of goods in a Customs Union.
