WELCOMES the intention of the Commission to make the secure Community Emergency Communication and Information System (CECIS) operational in 2004, and to interlink it with the other existing networks, in particular those for health and radiological emergencies such as Early Warning and Response System in the field of communicable diseases (EWRS), the Rapid Alert System for Biological and Chemical Attacks (RAS-BICHAT), the Medical Intelligence System (MedISys) and the EC Urgent Radiological Information Exchange (ECURIE);

(15) It is necessary to ensure that the Community eco-label award scheme is consistent and coordinated with the priorities of the Community environmental policy and with other Community labelling or quality-certification schemes such as those established by Council Directive 92/75/EEC of 22 September 1992 on the indication by labelling and standard product information of the consumption of energy and other resources by household appliances(5) and by Council Regulation (EEC) No 2092/91 of 24 June 1991 on organic production of agricultural products and indications referring thereto on agricultural products and foodstuffs(6).

To achieve this, the programme breaks down into two major components: - 4 - Section A: Training, seminars, workshops and technical cooperation with the aim of achieving - The harmonisation of classifications and nomenclatures in order to enable data integration and comparison, and thus assist GUS in the adoption of international - in particular EC-standards. - The redesign and updating of the system of registers and data collection relating to small and medium size enterprises to ensure compatibility with the demands of private sector liberalisation. - The implementation of the EC national account system, which would allow international comparisons and ex ...[+++]change of informations. - The reform of price surveys. - The implementation of a system of foreign trade statistics compatible with international standards. - The design of a comprehensive, integrated and internationally compatible system of information on the environment. - The provision of technical assistance for the procurement as well as monitoring and evaluation of informatics.

COMMUNITY SYSTEM OF INFORMATION ON HOME AND LEISURE ACCIDENTS (EHLASS) The Council held a policy debate on the basis of a Commission communication and a proposal for a Decision introducing a Community system of information on home and leisure accidents.

COMMUNITY SYSTEM FOR THE EXCHANGE OF INFORMATION IN RESPECT OF CERTAIN PRODUCTS WHICH MAY JEOPARDIZE CONSUMERS' HEALTH OR SAFETY Pending receipt of the European Parliament's Opinion, the Council held a policy debate on the proposal for a Decision concerning the institution of a Community system for the exchange of information in respect of certain products which may jeopardize consumers' health or safety.
