Such expenditure shall be eligible for Community financial assistance, to the extent to which it relates directly to the implementation of the action;

Community financial assistance for the actions covered by the Programme shall not prevent those actions from being granted State aid at national, regional or local level, insofar as such aid is compatible with the State-aid arrangements laid down in the Treaty and within the cumulative limits established for each type of action set out in Annex I. The total aid granted in the form of State aid and Community financial assistance in respect of ancillary infrastructure shall not exceed 50 % of eligible costs.

For Priority projects in the field of transport, a maximum of 30% of the total eligible costs of the works; exceptionally, cross-border sections of projects included in the TEN-T programme as well as the deployment of European interoperable rail signalling systems may benefit from a maximum grant rate of 50% of total eligible costs, provided that the process of their implementation has begun before 2010 and that the Member States concerned have presented a plan to the Commission giving all the guarantees necessary regarding the financial support from the Member State and the timetable for the implementation of the project;

Aid intensity or amount: Assistance may reach 50 % of the eligible expenditure if the investment does not exceed EUR 1,5 million (regional contribution: 15 %, Community contribution: 35 %).

If the investment is greater than EUR 1,5 million, the assistance may be up to 40 % of eligible expenditure (regional contribution: 5 %, Community contribution: 35 %)

Community assistance for the eligible areas amounts to EUR2 649 000, or 12.93% of total assistance from the Union for the areas eligible under Objective 2, the same percentage as the eligible population of Spain in terms of the Community total.
