The Union has recognised research leadership in nanosciences and nanotechnologies with a projection of some 4 000 companies in the Union by 2015.

The Commission calls on European business leaders, including those from the financial sector, to issue, before mid 2012, an open and accountable commitment to promote, in close cooperation with public authorities and their other stakeholders, the uptake of responsible business conduct by a much larger number of EU enterprises, with clear targets for 2015 and 2020.

3. Without prejudice to the chain of command, the Head of the EUSEC RD Congo mission and the Head of the EUPOL RD Congo mission shall coordinate their activities closely and shall seek synergies between the two missions, particularly as regards the horizontal aspects of security sector reform in the DRC, and as regards the sharing of functions between the two missions.

To ensure better cooperation between the public health and the animal health sectors the Commission brought together the Chief Medical Officers (CMO) and the Chief Veterinarian Officers (CVO) of the EU on 22 September 2005.
