J'aimerais toutefois signaler que, lorsque j'étais à la recherche de subventions fédérales en vue de mettre sur pied le Réseau canadien d'information archivistique, le RCIA, censé diffuser à tous les Canadiens et à l'extérieur de notre pays l'information archivistique, j'ai constaté que, dans ces milieux, on mettait surtout l'accent sur la technologie et sur le soutien technologique, c'est-à-dire sur ce que l'on appelle à Ottawa «la quincaillerie».
What I would like to stress, however, is that in the quarters I have visited looking for federal funding for the Canadian Archival Information Network, or CAIN, to support getting information out to all Canadians and indeed people outside of this country, the emphasis right now is on technology and supporting technology, or, as they say in Ottawa, “the pipes and wires”.
