The tractor shall be lashed to the rails by means of wire rope with round strand, fibre core, construction 6 × 19 in accordance with ISO 2408:2004 and a nominal diameter of 13 mm. The metal strands must have an ultimate tensile strength of 1 770 MPa.

(6) Contrary to the allegation of the existence of two different separate products, i.e. general purpose ropes and special purpose ropes, it was found that SWR were produced in a wide range of different types by the exporting producers and that all SWR had the same basic physical characteristics (i.e. the steel wires that form strands, the strands that are wrapped around the core that form the rope and the core itselfJ. All SWR were also found to have the same basic technical characteristics (all have a number of wires in a strand, a number of strands in a rope, a certain diameter and a certain construction).

For purposes of this paragraph, ropes comprising a textile core surrounded by six strands consisting solely of steel wire and completely covering the core will be allowed on condition that the ropes (without taking into account the transparent plastic sheath, if any) are not less than 3 mm in diameter.
