4.1. The items to be inspected will be selected from those mentioned on the checklist in the SAFA Ramp Inspection Report which contains a total of 54 items (see Attachment 1).

3. For each inspection the focal point shall ensure that a coordinator is designated to make the practical arrangements associated with the inspection activity to be undertaken. During the inspection, the team leader shall be the primary contact for the coordinator.

The Directive defines a minimum frequency of on-site inspections of one per year and obliges Member States to ensure that inspection programmes are drawn up for all establishments, that reports are prepared after inspections and that, where necessary, inspections are followed up with the management of the establishment within a reasonable period.
