After carrying out an in-depth market investigation, the Commission found that the combination of the respective petrochemical activities of Shell and DEA, on the one hand, and of BP and E.ON, on the other hand, would result in the creation of a joint dominant position on the market for the supply of ethylene on the pipeline network called "ARG".
