Definition: Fear of scrutiny by other people leading to avoidance of social situations. More pervasive social phobias are usually associated with low self-esteem and fear of criticism. They may present as a complaint of blushing, hand tremor, nausea, or urgency of micturition, the patient sometimes being convinced that one of these secondary manifestations of their anxiety is the primary problem. Definition: The majority of compulsive acts are concerned with cleaning (particularly handwashing), repeated checking to ensure that a potentially dangerous situation has not been allowed to develop, or orderliness and tidiness. Underlying the overt behaviour is a fear, usually of danger either to or caused by the patient, and the ritual is an ineffectual or symbolic attempt to avert that danger.

The establishment of those frameworks also helps to avoid a fragmentation of the internal market thanks to a coordinated introduction of alternative fuels.

Given the significant number of actors internally within the EU, e.g. the different Commission DGs, the Members States and the EIB, and external actors such as the partner countries themselves, the EBRD, World Bank, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Islamic Development Bank, the African Development Bank and even the G8, it is extremely important that there is a synergy in action to avoid a "doubling up" of activities.

62. The Commission should also reassess the Traffic Avoidance action, for which not one single project has been funded by the Marco Polo Programme so far, as part of its planning for a third Programme.
