1. Les dispositions de la présente convention ne sont applicables qu'aux actions judiciaires intentées, aux actes authentiques reçus et aux transactions conclues devant une juridiction au cours d'une instance, postérieurement à l'entrée en vigueur de la présente convention dans l'État membre d'origine et, lorsque la reconnaissance ou l'exécution d'une décision ou d'un acte authentique est demandée, dans l'État membre requis.
1. The provisions of this Convention shall apply only to legal proceedings instituted, to documents formally drawn up or registered as authentic instruments and to settlements which have been approved by a court in the course of proceedings after its entry into force in the Member State of origin and, where recognition or enforcement of a judgment or authentic instruments is sought, in the Member State addressed.
