Le paragraphe 2(1) du projet de loi S-14 modifie l'alinéa 4(2)a.1) de la Loi sur le ministère de la Santé en clarifiant les responsabilités du ministre en ce qui concerne la promotion et le maintien du bien-être physique, mental et social de la population du Canada, pour inclure de façon explicite, dans le cas des enfants, la sensibilisation du public aux risques occasionnés, en matière de santé et en matière sociale, par les châtiments corporels, ainsi qu'aux moyens susceptibles de remplacer ceux-ci.
Clause 2(1) of Bill S-14 would amend paragraph 4(2)(a.1) of the Department of Health Act by clarifying the minister's responsibility for the promotion and preservation of the physical, mental and social well-being of the people of Canada, to explicitly include with respect to the children of Canada the education of Canadians about the health and social risks associated with the corporal punishment of children and the alternatives to its use.
