The services that involve playing any part in the management or decision-making of the audited entity might include working capital management, providing financial information, business process optimisation, cash management, transfer pricing, creating supply chain efficiency and the like.

The new framework could eventually apply to all communications of the CAP other than communication of financial information and, by means of information technology, to all systems in place in this context.

The statistics shall cover all economic activities defined in sections B (Mining and quarrying), C (Manufacturing), D (Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply), E (Water supply; sewerage, waste management and remediation activities), F (Construction), G (Wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles), H (Transportation and storage), I (Accommodation and food service activities), J (Information and communication activities), K (Financial and insurance activities), L (Real estate activities), M (Professional, scientific and technical activities), N (Administrative and support service activities), P (Edu ...[+++]cation), Q (Human health and social work activities), R (Arts, entertainment and recreation activities) and S (Other service activities) of the statistical classification of economic activities in the European Community (NACE Rev. 2)’.

One result was that the Commission paid attention to slow financial reporting from the projects, stressing a need to find incentives to speed it up.

Innovations introduced in this area in the new period include: the common Structural Funds financial database SFC, the linking of interim payments to submission of annual reports, better forecasting of payment claims, coding of projects according to a standard classification, reporting of financial corrections and recoveries, and access to detailed project information for analysis before audits.

This integration, through the FSAP, should make it possible to reinforce financial stability and market integrity, establish a framework for the implementation and enforcement of common European legislation and ensure that the new additional markets after enlargement will be absorbed smoothly into the EU regulatory system.
