5 (1) When an application for an import certificate has been signed by the Chief of the Export and Import Permits Division or otherwise signed by or on behalf of the Minister of Industry, Trade and Commerce, the application form, with all information and certifications by the applicant appearing therein, becomes an import certificate and shall not, thereafter, be altered except by or on behalf of the Minister.

The agreement also requires that each exporting Member implement the system of Certificates of Origin established by the ICC to facilitate the collection of statistics on the international coffee trade, and furnish to the ICC any information it judges necessary relating to production, imports, exports, consumption and prices.

The European Union and the Member States will also give their full support to negotiations towards an international treaty on the arms trade, as was stated by the Council in its conclusions of 11 December 2006, in which it also stated, inter alia, that it welcomed the formal commencement of the process of drafting a legally binding international treaty on the arms trade as accomplished by the adoption, by the General Assembly of the United Nations on 6 December 2006, of the resolution on an international treaty on the arms trade, for ...[+++]the purpose of laying down common international standards for the import, export and transfer of conventional weapons.

A major loss in trade in animal products to Russia has been avoided by the introduction of uniform veterinary trade certificates, allowing EU exports of live animals and animal products to continue from 1 October without disruption.

The Appellate Body of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) which adopted its report in September 1997, ruled that a number of elements of the EU's regime for bananas are not in conformity with the WTO rules i.e. the import licensing arrangements, the allocation of certain percentages of the tariff quota to the signatories of the Framework Agreement on bananas (Colombia, Costa Rica, Venezuela and Nicaragua) and the authorisation by the signatory countries to grant export licences as well as the share out of the quantities set for traditional imports from ACP states.
