– having regard to the EPSCO Council conclusions on the inclusion of the Roma of 8/9 June 2009 and to the Common Basic Principles on Roma Inclusion, as discussed at the first meeting of the integrated European platform on Roma inclusion held in April 2009,

11. Hopes that the Second Round Table on Poverty and Social Exclusion, due to be held in Turin on 16 and 17 October 2003, will be a defining moment in assessing the outcome of the implementation of the first national action plans for social inclusion; also hopes that it will contribute to the implementation of an effective social inclusion policy, which the second national plans for social inclusion, now being drawn up by the Member States, must treat as a priority, focusing in particular on the integration of immigrants, education, including lifelong learning, and vocational training;

Hopes that the Second Round Table on Poverty and Social Exclusion, to be held in Turin on 16 and 17 October 2003, will be a defining moment from the point of view of assessing the outcome of the implementation of the first national action plans for social inclusion and benefit the implementation of an effective social inclusion policy, which the second national plans for social inclusion, now being drawn up by the Member States, must treat as a priority, focusing in particular on the integration of immigrants, education, including lifelong learning, and vocational training;

These programmes have a range of goals, including: (i) supporting the development and improvement of vocational training systems (ii) creating jobs and helping reintegrate the unemployed into the labour market by prioritising a pro-active approach in the form of jobfinder schemes, and (iii) local initiatives promoting a series of goals such as employment, participation by women in the labour market (combined with measures to combat gender discrimination), employment opportunities for the socially excluded, entrepreneurship, and lifelong learning for working people.

One, dealing broadly with Employability, includes the DPs working under the Employability, Entrepreneurship and Asylum-seeker pillars. The second, dealing with Adaptability, includes DPs from the Adaptability and Equal Opportunities Pillars.
