· Patient reports can bring a new contribution to the understanding of adverse drug reactions (ADR) as it was the case for paroxetine (Deroxat/Seroxat), an antidepressant which was found, thanks to patient reports, to increase the risk of suicides and to cause a deprivation syndrome (“electric head”) if the patients wanted to stop their treatment.
· Les notifications faites par les patients peuvent apporter une nouvelle contribution pour la compréhension des effets indésirables comme cela a été le cas pour la paroxétine (Deroxat/Seroxat), antidépresseur dont il a été prouvé, grâce à des notifications faites par des patients, qu'il augmentait le risque de suicide et qu'il causait un syndrome de manque ("tête électrique"), si les patients souhaitaient arrêter leur traitement.
