At approximately 1800 hours that evening, after five hours of fighting back and forth between the Canadians and the Croatians, I received an odd request through one of our UNMO networks which indicated that the Croatian general in Gospic, on the other side, wanted to meet with me. He wanted to have a meeting to discuss the situation at the front line.
