(2) Pursuant to Decision ECB/1998/NP15 of 1 December 1998 concerning the performance by the ECB of certain functions relating to medium-term financial assistance for Member States' balances of payments(2), the EMI's Decision No 8/95 of 2 May 1995 concerning the administration of the borrowing-and-lending operations concluded by the European Community under the medium-term financial assistance mechanism remained valid and continued to apply as of the first day of the third stage.
(2) En application de la décision BCE/1998/NP15 du 1er décembre 1998 concernant l'accomplissement par la BCE de certaines fonctions relatives au soutien financier à moyen terme des balances des paiements des États membres(2), la décision n° 8/95 de l'IME du 2 mai 1995 relative à la gestion des opérations d'emprunt et de prêt conclues par la Communauté européenne dans le cadre du mécanisme de soutien financier à moyen terme est restée valable, et a continué à s'appliquer, à compter du premier jour de la troisième phase.
