(12) ‘upgrading’ means any major modification work on a subsystem or part of it which results in a change in the technical file accompanying the ‘EC’ declaration of verification, if this technical file exists, and which improves the overall performance of the subsystem Where modification work is to be carried out in respect of a subsystem or vehicle, the relevant TSI shall specify whether or not the work in question is to be classified as major and, if it is, the reasons for such classification;
(12) "réaménagement": les travaux importants de modification d'un sous-système ou d'une de ses parties résultant en une modification du dossier technique accompagnant la déclaration CE de vérification, si un tel dossier technique existe, et améliorant les performances globales du sous-système. Lorsque des travaux de modification doivent être entrepris sur un sous-sytème ou véhicule, la STI correspondante indique si ces travaux sont considérés comme importants et, le cas échéant, les raisons d'une telle classification;
