The last time we voted on this subject some years ago I inserted an amendment asking for joint action between the EC and the Union of the Comoros to protect that ‘fish out of time’, the Coelacanth, which, although thought to have been extinct for tens of millions of years, was rediscovered in deep water off the Comoros in the 1940s.
La dernière fois que nous avons voté sur ce sujet, il y a quelques années, j’avais inséré un amendement demandant à la CE et à l’Union des Comores d’entreprendre une action commune en vue de protéger ce «poisson d’un autre âge», le cœlacanthe, qui, alors qu’on le croyait éteint depuis des dizaines de millions d’années, a été redécouvert dans les eaux profondes au large des Comores dans les années 1940.
