Condemns the arbitrary charges behind the arrests of political opponents of the Burmese regime or dissidents, particularly the continuing repression and intimidation of Buddhist monks; urges the Burmese authorities to desist from further politically motivated arrests and to release all prisoners of conscience, including the monks, immediately and unconditionally and with full restoration of their political rights;

This is already the case, and it will increasingly become so where Russia and the issue of Siberian overflights are concerned, as Mrs Kauppi highlighted a short while ago. There is also the fact that these overflights are the subject of arbitrary charges.

Although neither the fact of obtaining protection for body parts (in the Renault case) nor the refusal to license exclusive rights against payment of a royalty (in the Volvo case) constitutes in itself an abuse of a dominant position, the Court affirmed in both judgments that the exercise of the exclusive rights in question in relation to body parts for cars may be prohibited by Article 86 if it leads to certain abusive behaviour on the part of the dominant company, citing as examples of such behaviour the arbitrary refusal to supply spare parts to independent repairers, the charging of unfair prices for spare parts, and the ceasing of p ...[+++]roduction of parts for a model large numbers of which are still in circulation.

A review scheme that begins at 14 days and then goes to a six-month interval is simply far too long to remedy the charge that this is arbitrary detention.
